By definition, Sonder is coming to the realisation that every stranger is living a life that is as vivid and complex as your own. The short film looks to explore the nature of self destruction through mannerisms that are considered to be mundane to us all.
Written and Directed by Surbhi Malik.
Produced by Janisha Ricardo, Tom Tran, and Geordan Bates.

The Take48 Process
In a group of 4, we participated in the most recent Take48 however given current COVID-19 lockdown constraints, the production process of this looked extremely different to normal. Working completely remote to one another we had to envision a concept that was creative, yet achievable in both the time limit and travel restrictions.
Based on the given stimulus, the decision to put post it notes into the blender was a cool one. I myself came up with the line regarding the will to live and I think it worked creatively. Changing the ending even after the first script amendment came down to two things; weather, and the idea of show rather than tell. Having GUY walk into the water seemed a little too much as though we were trying to shove the self destructive nature of his character down the audiences throat. After reviewing the dirty edit of the film we as a group collectively decided it wasn’t necessary, his words and actions with the post it note smoothie essentially communicated the messages we were trying to convey.
